Parents & Carers

Central Walker Parents and Carers Association (PCA)

Who are we?

All parents and carers of children at Central Walker Church of England Primary School are automatically members of the Parents and Carers. Central Walker Parents and Carers are a group of parents, carers who are willing to give a little of their time voluntarily to raise funds for Central Walker Church of England Primary School.  We are not a formal group – we aim to meet for coffee to arrange fundraising activities i.e School Fairs, Cake Sales.

What do the Parents and Carers do?

Our aim is to raise funds for use within the School in order to give our children additional experiences and treats.
The money that we raise is used to fund things like:
  • School Defibrillator
  • Competition Prizes
  • Year 6 trip to the bowling
We are currently raising money for:
  • Books for the school library

What fundraising events do the Parents and Carers organise?

Each year we organise two School Fairs – Christmas and Summer Fairs.  The Christmas Fair is a big occasion and includes a visit from Santa.  We put on many stalls for the children to enjoy.  In addition we serve teas, coffees and light refreshments alongside the ever populare homemade cake stalls.
Weather permitting we aim to hold the Summer Fair outside.  If the weather is against us, we use the school halls to set up the fair.  We have much the same range of stalls and games for the children including hook a duck, tombola etc.

Non Uniform Days

The children have around six non uniform days per year, three in the run up to each of the school fairs.  We ask the children to pay a ‘fine’of chocolate, bottle, or pocket money toys which are then used as prizes at the School Fairs.

How can people get involved with the PCA?
