Earth Day 2024 at Central Walker CoE Primary

Earth Day is celebrated worldwide on April 22nd every year and aims to educate people about environmental issues and promote real change to care for our planet for future generations.

In order to think more about planet earth and how everyone can make a difference, each of our classes spent time in our spirituality garden. We listened to stories about the importance of looking after planet Earth and discussed ways in which we could minimise our impact on the environment.

Our reception children also undertook their own litter picking around the school grounds which is a great way of reducing some of the waste that goes into a landfill and instead means that more litter can be recycled and repurposed lessening the impact on the environment.

Part of our key values as a NEAT Academy Trust school is acting responsibly in the best interests of our community. Being mindful and conscious of how we can better look after the environment is one of the best ways we can keep our planet safe and protected for future generations.
